There are a set of rules to be enforced since they're very common across all wikis, as well as retaining any factual information public and accessible for everyone despite the low traffic of this wiki.
Unfortunately, due to the wiki's theme and target demographic, anon edits is no longer possible. If you want to add/modify any contents on the wiki, you may register a Fandom account if you met a specific age requirement:
- Above the age of 13 for the rest of the world.
- Above the age of 16 for European Union or California.
It's also important to follow proper etiquette and abide by consensus.(i.e have good faith, communicate only in English, etc.) If you're new or inexperienced with wikis, I'd highly recommend that you read the rules of the wiki. If there are any issues or feedback, feel free to contact the admin. For more information about contributing or editing, go here.
Keep it clean and family-friendly
We believe that Luckypedia is for everyone, but it also caters to a younger demographic.
- This means that, although it's fine to joke or to have banter around with others, keep profanity to a bare minimum, including slurs, its corresponding acronyms, and euphemisms. However, minor profanity is allowed. As long as it's not used excessively and in a derogatory manner. (i.e. frick, damn, hell, damn, piss, ass, bastard, etc.)
- Prevent any controversial, sensitive, and political topics that would otherwise offend anyone in this wiki. (e.g. sparking a debate on a specific religion, bringing up any tragic event, etc.)
Luckypedia is an English wiki
Luckypedia uses the English language. Although this is isn't necessarily a rule violation to speak in other languages, it's totally fine to speak in a desired or native tongue - if you're bilingual or multilingual, you can translate it for the sake of others' time.
However, the use of other languages on articles not written in English, whether it's a transliteration of a character's name, will be placed under Names in other languages section.
The gist of it / TL;DR
Some of the rules, either minor or destructive violations, will receive a longer timeframe than the ones mentioned below. It's never okay to threaten, harass, or expose the personal information of an individual that would get you into serious trouble and possibly getting your account banned permanently. Just follow the rules and assume good faith and you'll lower the risks of getting into some sort of trouble.
If you see a user or a group violating one or more of the rules, report it to the admin immediately.
If there is a point where spam, vandalism, and harassment of one or more users has gotten very rampant and finding out a vandal has vandalized to other wikis, please immediately report it to the Fandom staff. |
Behavior
Disruption
Of course, Harassment towards anyone or engaging in harassment is a big no-no to the consensus as we heavily discourage it. This also includes belittling someone, starting or engaging in flame wars. It's simple, just don't be a jerk!
If you think that someone is being harassed or engaging in harassing a group or an individual, report the user and notify an admin.
Edit warring and farming
An edit war is where 2 users undo their edits on a page due to disagreement with each other - if you're in this situation, mediate him/her through the message wall and explain why. If this continues, both users are going to be blocked for 1-2 weeks.
- In other instances, an edit farming is making useless edits for the sake of making edits. If an admin has caught you doing it, a warning is issued, if you continue - you'll get blocked for a few days.
- If you feel like your edits are correct and someone reversed it, explain it to that perspective user on their Message Wall.
Privacy and Impersonation
It is never a good idea to solicit and/or publish anyone's private information from anyone whatsoever whether you have permission or not. The admins serve the right to protect someone's privacy online and potentially remove anything that breaches someone's information to the public.
- Impersonating someone is also not tolerated, either with malicious intent or not, it can tarnish an individual.
- Don’t share anything illegal, libelous, or would otherwise create liability or violates any local, state, national, or international law. Such as sending a phishing link, or, in an unlikely situation, a download link to a potential virus that could compromise someone's data on their device.
Sock puppet accounts/Ban evasion
In some circumstances, people will use a sock puppet account to evade the ban, which breaks Fandom's TOS. If a user was previously banned, there will be a high possibility that you're going to get permanently IP banned.
Vandalism and Spam
This is one of the common problems circulating across Fandom and is taken very seriously. Depending on the severity, vandals' edits are immediately reverted and will possibly face a 48-hour temp block, or even worse, be blocked across Fandom.
- Spam can mean anything, from inserting unwanted, disruptive, and/or unnecessary information (e.g. adding unrelated categories, self-promotion on yours and someone's social media, other wikis, unrelated site, or phishing site) from a page or adding a page completely unrelated to the wiki's content, if this happens, you'll get a temporary to a full-on permanent ban.
- If you come across someone who is caught or engaging in vandalizing and/or spamming, whether on blogs, comment threads, pages, etc., notify the admin immediately.
- In some cases, its page that has been vandalized persistently will be protected temporarily, depending on the infractions caused.
Self-promotion
Self-promotion is generally seen as a nuisance to everyone. The only place that you can promote your social media or to other places is through your user page.
If you create a blog post, discussion, or comment praising yours or someone's social media or website, it will get removed immediately.
Adding fanon content
This includes, but not limited to:
- Uploading and/or adding an OC (original character) under affiliates of an already or custom character on infoboxes.
- Adding your infobox template.
- Inserting a backstory of an OC, especially when it doesn't have a connection to the overall Lucky's Tale lore.
- Adding fan-art or anything related to a page about an OC.
There isn't a fanon-variant of this wiki due to the wiki's extremely low traffic. Doing so will be removed and, depending on the infractions, protected from creation and will be temporarily blocked for 24 hours.
Countermeasures
If you're caught violating one or more of the rules mentioned above, depending on the severity of the infractions, you'll get a warning from the admin or 24-hour to a few days of a temp block. If you are caught twice or more, you'll get a longer timespan of 1-2 weeks of temp block, or in worst cases, a permanent ban or blocked across the Fandom network.
